Dairy can make pain and infammation worseMost people think of cows when they think of dairy, and rightly so because most of the dairy on the shelves of Western grocery stores comes from cows in the form of milk, cheese, cream, butter, sour cream, and yogurt. However, there are also dairy products that come from other animals like goats, sheep, and camels that are available at some stores.

Dairy refers to the milk secretions that come from the udders of female animals, which is intended to feed their young, just as many human women nurse their babies.

There are two types of genes in cows called A1 and A2. Most conventional cows bred for dairy production in North America are A1 cows. There is speculation that the milk from A1 cows is harder to digest for some people than the milk from A2 cows. But the conventional system uses milk from A1 cows, mostly black and white Holsteins because they are easier to breed in large numbers to keep up with our high volume of milk consumption.

Why Can It Be Bad?

A lot of people think that dairy is a staple in a healthy diet, but the evidence is showing that this isn’t the case. In fact, the opposite might be true. Dairy could actually be harmful to your health. How?

There are many ways that dairy consumption can be bad for you. Humans actually lose the ability to properly digest the components in all species milked at the age of natural weaning, which is between the ages of 4-7 when you look at worldwide averages from the World Health Organization. This is because human infants are born needing to be able to properly digest their mother’s milk, and then lose the ability when they begin to eat solid foods regularly and no longer need their mother’s milk for survival.

Nicotine and caffeine are only a couple of the widely used stimulants today. Smokers are approximately 4 times more likely to report not feeling well rested from a night’s sleep versus non-smokers. And caffeine, from all its sources, stays in your system approximately 8 hours. So you may want to consider quitting cigarettes and eliminating coffee after noon. Rewarding restful sleep may be worth the effort that it takes to make these changes.

Rubens Barbosa Wins the PBR Chicago Invitational

Rubens Barbosa Wins PBR's Chicago InvitationalReal Time Pain Relief Bullrider, Rubens Barbosa from Iacaira, Brazil, went 4 for 4 and had an incredible victory in the PBR Chicago Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Allstate Arena.

Rubens scored a 90.25-point ride on Cooper Tires Brown Sugar (Dakota Rodeo-Berber/Struve) to win the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and cap a perfect 4-for-4 performance. It was the first time Barbosa has covered all his bulls at a Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) event and it was his first BFTS event win since 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Barbosa leaves Chicago as the second ranked bull rider in the PBR World Standings after earning a total of 745 worldpoints on Sunday, along with a $40,330 paycheck.

 

Mike Lee Wins First PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle of 2017

Real Time Rider Mike Lee Wins 15/15 Bucking BattleThe first PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle of the 2017 season went to a savvy veteran, the 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee from Decatur, Texas. The Real Time Pain Relief bull rider claimed the victory Friday night at the Allstate Arena right after Round 1 of the Chicago Invitational.

Lee got a 87.75-point ride on Handsome Jeff (K-C/Josie McElroy Bucking Bulls/Spark-lin Acres) and picked up 150 world standings points for the finish in the special round, along with a payout of $8,666.67. He also earned 45 world points and $1,650 for tying for third place in Round 1 after riding Beast of Burden (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/H&C Bucking Bulls) for 85.75 points earlier in the evening.
