Thomas Ketchum notorious outlawThomas Ketchum, also known as “Black Jack”, was your everyday, hardworking cowboy until he switched to a life of crime. When he headed for Texas in 1890, he joined the notorious “Hole in the Wall Gang” and specialized in robbing stagecoaches and trains. It is said that when the group wasn’t robbing trains that they worked for some ranches in the area. Ketchum’s luck ran out when he was captured during a train robbery and sentenced to death by hanging in 1901.
