Cole Younger

Cole Younger Notorious OutlawWhen Cole was a young boy, his father was brutally murdered by a Union Captain. Soon after the incident, Cole joined the Confederate Army. A few years later, he started his life as an outlaw. In 1868, he robbed the Nimrod Long & Co. bank in Russellville, Kentucky and formed a gang soon after with his brothers and Jesse and Frank James. Known for hitting banks, stagecoaches, and trains throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky they were finally captured in 1876 during a bank robbery gone wrong. Cole and his brothers pled guilty and were sentenced to life in prison. They were paroled in 1901. Cole Younger toured the nation with Frank James, telling stories about the old west. He later became a Christian and repented his outlaw ways.
